WeighCast Privacy Policy

WeighCast does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Everything the app knows about you stays on your iPhone.

The short version

• We never see your weight, your height, or anything else about you.
• Nothing is uploaded, shared, sold, or used for advertising — WeighCast contains no adverts and never will.
• The app has no accounts and no servers to store data on.
• Deleting the app removes everything WeighCast stored.

What WeighCast reads

With your permission, WeighCast reads two things from Apple Health:

• Body mass (weight) — used to work out your trend and estimate when you might reach your goal.
• Height — used only to calculate a healthy weight range, so the app can refuse targets below it.

This data is read on your device, used on your device, and never transmitted anywhere. You can withdraw permission at any time in the iOS Settings app, under Privacy & Security → Health → WeighCast.

What WeighCast writes

WeighCast only ever writes things you have typed in yourself:

• A weigh-in you enter manually in the app.
• Your height, if Apple Health does not already have one and you provide it.

These are saved to Apple Health so they are backed up with the rest of your health record and available to your other apps. WeighCast never changes, hides or deletes anything already in Apple Health. Choosing to ignore a reading in WeighCast only affects WeighCast's own calculations.

What WeighCast stores on your device

The app stores your settings in a file on your iPhone: your goal, your target weight, your height, your chosen start date, which readings you have asked it to ignore, and a record of when you accepted these terms. This file is not backed up to iCloud and is removed when you delete the app.

What we do not do

• No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage tracking.
• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
• No third-party SDKs of any kind.
• No sale or sharing of personal information.
• No profiling or automated decision-making about you.

Apple's own App Store and TestFlight services may collect information independently of WeighCast — for example download and crash statistics. That collection is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one, and we receive only aggregate figures that cannot identify you.

Health data and Apple's rules

WeighCast complies with Apple's requirements for apps using HealthKit. Health data obtained through HealthKit is never used for advertising or marketing, is never sold or shared with third parties, is never used for data mining, and is never stored in iCloud.

Your rights

Because WeighCast holds no data about you outside your own device, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase — we have nothing to look up. You remain in full control:

• Access and portability — your weigh-ins live in the Apple Health app, where you can view and export them.
• Erasure — delete individual entries in Apple Health, or delete WeighCast to remove everything it stored.
• Withdrawing consent — revoke Health access at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Under UK and EU data protection law you also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

WeighCast is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children — and as set out above, we do not collect information from anyone.

Not medical advice

WeighCast is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Its estimates are statistical projections based on your past weigh-ins and will change over time. Always speak to a qualified healthcare professional about your health and before making significant changes to how you eat or exercise.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, the app will tell you the next time you open it.
